Seumas O'Kelly was born in Loughrea, Galway in 1881 and worked as a Journalist, starting his career in cork, before moving to the Sinn Fein Newspaper "Nationality" based in Dublin. He sadly passed away of a heart attack during a raid on the newspapers offices in 1918.
He wrote many plays and short stories which were published posthumously. The Loughrea Players association is name after O'Kelly.
